Julia Pickard is an NYC-based interdisciplinary artist and choreographer. In her work, she explores the pathological nature of obsession, possession, and the taboo of primal human desire through the limits of language and the limitless capability of the body.

Currently based in New York City, New York. Born and raised in rural Pennsylvania. Frequent relocator.

Julia graduated with a degree in physical theatre from Coastal Carolina University in 2024. She is set to begin her Master’s in Film Studies in fall of 2026. In the meantime, she has devoted herself to experiencing the present moment and documenting life as it comes.

Her blog. Full of unhinged rants, minor cultural critique, and short stories she can’t get published.

Her experimentation with drone and ambient music production. Extremely amateurish.

Full-length devised works and choreographed pieces are stored here.

Her most recent projects included a residency with the Mudhouse Artist Residency in Crete, performances of Galatea at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, and, currently, revising her first play, CONSUMMATION.
